1) Al Lopez died yesterday at the age of 97.

Lopez had a long managerial career, with his players winning pennants with the 1954 Indians and 1959 White Sox.

2) The Mariners gave the Dodgers permission to interview Pat Gillick for their GM job.

3) According to the Boston Globe, the Red Sox agreed to a 3 year contract for GM Theo Epstein, with an announcement coming either today or tomorrow.

4) According to the Boston Globe, if the Red Sox trade Manny Ramirez, the Angels look like the most likely destination, while the Red Sox might be willing to downgrade themselves by taking Darin Erstad in the deal.
