1) The Phillies have a press conference today to announce the hiring of Pat Gillick as GM.

2) The Devil Rays exercised their $1.4 million option on P Casey Fossum. Fossum also has to agree in order to for that salary to go into effect for him. If he doesn’t, he stays with the team as a salary arbitration eligible player.
