4) According to the Seattle Times, the Mariners will name Mike Hargrove as manager. According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the decision is between Hargrove and Grady Little.

5) On Monday, Marlins LF Jeff Conine had shoulder surgery.

After 0 RCAA/.755 OPS and 11 RCAA/.797 OPS seasons, Conine hit .432 SLG, .340 OBA, .772 OPS, -2 RCAA in 140 games. He has a .799 career OPS, compared to his league average of .767, and 84 RCAA in 1650 games.

6) The Marlins released P Billy Koch, removed C Ramon Castro and P Aaron Small from the 40 man roster and they both became free agents when they refused their assignments to the minors and added INFs Joe Dillon and Derek Wathan to the 40 man roster.

Koch is going to be a free agent, so they Marlins just decided to remove him from the 40 man roster a few days earlier.

Castro has -20 RCAA/.661 OPS in 207 career games, including a .260 SLG, .231 OBA, .492 OPS, -10 RCAA in 32 games in 2004.

Small has a 5.49 ERA/-23 RSAA in 146 career games, including a 8.27 ERA/-8 RSAA in 7 games in 2004.
