The Hardball Times Baseball Annual 2015 The Hardball Times Annual 2015 is the ultimate baseball annual...the “MVP of baseball annuals.” Now in its 11th year, this year's edition contains more than 35 articles from some of the best-known writers in baseball today. Topics include complete coverage of the 2014 season, with special focus on strikeouts, normal defensive shifts, how sabermetrics are changing the game and how the game’s economics are changing, plus our customary unique takes on baseball history and cutting-edge sabermetric analysis. Check out complete details on the book in our introductory post. $15.99
When The Sparrow Sings Zack Hiatt is the best pitcher on maybe the best team in baseball, and he is going to the World Series. Zack's arrival on the big stage is the culmination of his father's dream as much as his own, and Zack has the scars to prove it. But before he can even throw a pitch in the Series, his father dies in a tragic car accident. The first question-whether or not to pitch-isn't even a question. He has to pitch. The world demands it of him. And so does he. What follows in Jason Linden's debut novel is a story about trying to hold it together when you shouldn't have to and about the memories our parents leave with us when they're gone. The Hardball Times Baseball Annual 2014

The Hardball Times Annual 2014 followed the same format as the previous year (self-published in a 6 by 9 size) and contained many gems of commentary and analysis, such as Bill James' thoughts on the difference between pitching and hitting prospects, Craig Wright's takedown of Roger Clemens' place in history and Jon Roegele's in-depth analysis of how the strike zone has changed during the PITCHf/x era. The Hardball Times Baseball Annual 2013

We self-published the Hardball Times Annual 2013 and reduced the book size a little to 6 by 9. Still, we kept as much content as the previous books, and some highlights were Chris Jaffe's historic review of umpire strike zones, Dave Studenmund's overview of the Orioles' amazing 2013 bullpen (using WPA, of course) and Dave Allen's analysis of how pitchers and batters approach their job with a man on first. This Annual also featured Case Studies, in which specific players had their 2012 seasons analyzed by THT and FG writers. BUY NOW >

The Hardball Times Baseball Annual 2012

The Hardball Times Annual 2012 differed from previous versions in several ways. For one, we dropped the stats (which were expensive and not highly valued by our readers) and changed the size of the book to 7 by 9. Most articles had side columns, which allowed us to provide extra information. Some notable entries included James Holzhauer's tips from how he got rich betting on baseball games, Matt Swartz's analysis of how traded players do on their new teams and Adam Dorhauer's definitive list of the best hitters of all time. The Hardball Times Baseball Annual 2004

Okay, so when we self-published our first annual review, we thought it should be named for the year that was reviewed. Silly us. Still, this book is what it says it is: a 300-page review of the 2004 season. Published just two weeks after the Red Sox won the World Series, the THT Annual recounted all the highlights and lowlights of the year. It included some original articles, best articles from the website and in-depth player and team statistics. BUY NOW >
