Often referred to as a "lefty Marmol," Gaub has unhittable stuff but unfortunately he has a tough time getting it near the plate. His walk tendencies likely mean he won't be more than a lefty specialist.

Gaub is often described as a "lefty Marmol," and it's a decent comparison. However, he strikes out fewer batters and walks even more. He's tough on lefties, so he may see time as a LOOGY, but he'll never be anything more until he finds some control.

A fastball/cutter-throwing lefty, Gaub came to Chicago in the DeRosa-to-Cleveland deal. Gaub struggled with his control in the Arizona Fall League, but the southpaw has good stuff and projects as a set-up guy. Should get some LOOGY innings as 2010 progresses, and could even break camp with a surprising spring.
