There is nothing more depressing for an Astros fan than reading Keith Law’s Top 100 prospects. Castro at 96 is the only thing keeping us from being shut out.

Aarcraft: then you should definitely stay away from Law’s organizational rankings and his comments.  It ain’t pretty for the ‘Stros.

I saw that too. Brattain’s article yesterday on Selig loyalist also cut me real deep.

Is there some way to subscribe to ESPN’s Insider w/o paying the $39 price that includes a subscription to the (annoying) magazine? I’d gladly pay $10 a year to read the website…

Wells, I don’t think there is a way. The $39 is really just for the Insider subscription—they just bundle the magazine with it to keep their magazine subscription numbers up.

I read somewhere recently that you can’t opt out of the magazine component, you can only ask that they ship it elsewhere (military bases, etc).

Wells: I got it from using expiring airline mileage… got ESPN the Mag for a 2 yr sub for maybe 1k expiring miles and that gave me Insider.  strange but true.

I think it was a continental promo.  maybe US Air?

You can subscribe to the magazine for less than $39 per year, and Insider is included.  I think I paid less than $20 for my subscription.  Well worth everything I get online, in my opinion.  And I read the mag about half the time.

Yeah, you can get the ESPN Magazine for $15 from Amazon, which will get you Insider.  That’s reasonable for the online content.  I barely read the Mag myself.
