Around the Majors: Arbitration result

1) Royals P Jeremy Affeldt lost his salary arbitration case. He'll get $950,000 in 2005, instead of the $1.2 million he was seeking.
After starting his career with 4.64 ERA/5 RSAA and 3.93 ERA/17 RSAA seasons, Affeldt had a 4.95 ERA/-4 RSAA in 38 games (8 starts). He has a 4.40 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.54, and 18 RSAA in 108 games.
2) The Orioles re-signed P Jorge Julio to a 1 year, $2.5 million contract, to avoid salary arbitration.
After 1.99 ERA/18 RSAA and 4.38 ERA/-1 RSAA seasons, Julio had a 4.57 ERA/2 RSAA in 65 games. He has a 3.64 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.54, and 20 RSAA in 214 games.
