Corey has a 6.02 ERA/-18 RSAA in 81 career games, including a 4.54 ERA/-2 RSAA in 31 games in 2004.

6) The Brewers declined their 2005 option on SS Craig Counsell and released C Gary Bennett.

After -15 RCAA/.699 OPS and -19 RCAA/.631 OPS seasons, Counsell hit .315 SLG, .330 OBA, .645 OPS, -21 RCAA in 140 games. It was the 4th time in the past 5 years in which he had a double digit negative RCAA and he has a .689 career OPS, compared to his league average of .775, and -81 RCAA in 798 games.

After -23 RCAA/.668 OPS and -15 RCAA/.602 OPS seasons, Bennett had a .329 SLG, .297 OBA, .626 OPS, -16 RCAA in 75 games. He has a .645 career OPS, compared to his league average of .775, and -71 RCAA in 390 games.

9) According to the Palm Beach Post, the Marlins want to trade 3B Mike Lowell before November 1.

According to his contract, if the team doesn't make a deal for a new stadium by that date, he can become a free agent.

10) An autopsy on John Cerutti showed he died of a heart arrhythmia. He had a history of irregular heartbeat, but a cardiologist had examined him and determined it wasn't a cause for concern.

11) According to ESPN.com, the preliminary results on Ken Caminiti's autopsy showed a drug overdose. According to the Houston Chronicle, the medical examiner's office denies it, saying that no cause of death has been determined yet.

Correction from yesterday--Scott Williamson's surgery had started as arthroscopic elbow surgery, with the expectation that it might turn into Tommy John surgery, which was what then happened.

If you enjoy the ATM reports and want to support them, check out my other creation--the sabermetric baseball encyclopedia. Orders are now being taken for the next edition, which will include the 2004 stats and come out in October. It's powerful, yet extremely easy to use. Features extensive sorting, stat display options, and features that are not available in online and printed sources. The deluxe package has been greatly expanded and could include a free copy of the current edition. For more information, see http://www.baseball-encyclopedia.com

According to Peter Gammons, "There is no greater baseball tool than Lee Sinins' Baseball Sabermetric Encyclopedia. Get thee to Baseball Immortals and order the disc, haste post haste." The product Jayson Stark called "the best invention since the toaster oven!" has gotten even more powerful.
