6) Manny Ramirez passed Graig Nettles into 43rd place on the all time HR list, with 392.
7) Vinny Castilla passed Jim Edmonds, Jeff Kent and David Justice and tied Fred Lynn for 98th place on the all time HR list, with 306.
1) The Yankees will activate P Kevin Brown from the DL and send INF Andy Phillips to the minors today.
After 4.81 ERA/-8 RSAA and 2.39 ERA/38 RSAA seasons, Brown had a 4.09 ERA/5 RSAA in 22 starts. He has a 3.20 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.30, and 321 RSAA in 473 games.
Phillips is 2 for 8, with a HR, in 7 career games.
2) The Royals placed P Jeremy Affeldt on the 15 day DL and called up P Kyle Snyder.
Affeldt has a strained groin. After starting his career with 4.64 ERA/5 RSAA and 3.93 ERA/17 RSAA seasons, Affeldt had a 4.95 ERA/-4 RSAA in 38 games (8 starts). He has a 4.39 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.54, and 18 RSAA in 113 games.
Snyder had a 5.17 ERA/0 RSAA in 15 starts in 2003.
3) The Diamondbacks placed CF Jose Cruz Jr. on the 15 day DL and called up OF-2B Scott Hairston.
Cruz has a strained lower back. After 0 RCAA/.754 OPS and 1 RCAA/.779 OPS seasons, Cruz hit .433 SLG, .333 OBA, .766 OPS, 2 RCAA in 153 games with the Devil Rays. He has a .792 career OPS, compared to his league average of .774, and 21 RCAA in 1063 games.
Hairston had a .442 SLG,. 293 OBA, .735 OPS, -11 RCAA in 101 games in 2004.
4) The Diamondbacks signed P Kerry Ligtenberg to a minor league contract.
5) Padres SS Khalil Greene had to leave yesterday's game, due to a broken right ring finger, and is expected to miss at least 3-4 weeks.
Greene also broke that finger last September. He has 4 RCAA/.775 OPS in 169 career games, including a .446 SLG, .349 OBA, .795 OPS, 9 RCAA in 139 games in 2004.
6) Orioles coach Elrod Henrdicks was diagnosed with having a mild stroke. He's been given favorable chances of making a complete recovery.
7) The Indians activated P C.C. Sabathia from the DL and sent P Matt Miller to the minors.
After 4.37 ERA/4 RSAA and 3.60 ERA/13 RSAA seasons, Sabathia had a 4.12 ERA/9 RSAA in 30 starts. He has a 4.12 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.53, and 29 RSAA in 126 games.
Miller has a 2.86 ERA/12 RSAA in 65 career games.
8) Pirates C Benito Santiago was out of the lineup the past couple of days, due to flulike symptoms, and might be able to play today.
After -4 RCAA/.765 OPS and -6 RCAA/.753 OPS seasons, Santiago had a .434 SLG, .312 OBA, .746 OPS, -6 RCAA in 49 games with the Royals. He has a .722 career OPS, compared to his league average of .748, and -159 RCAA in 1978 games.
Santiago passed 7500 career PA earlier this season and moved into 3rd place on the all time list for worst OBA vs. the league average, among players with at that many PA--

10) Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski says it might be "months" before Magglio Ordonez can return to the lineup.
