6) Carlos Delgado passed Joe Adcock into 77th place on the all time HR list, with 337.

7) Vinny Castilla passed Jim Edmonds into 100th place on the all time HR list, with 304.

Correction from yesterday--On the HR list for Japanese born players, Kaz Matsui should have only been listed once, with his 2004 & '05 figures combined. He is 5th, with 8.

1) The Twins placed P Carlos Silva on the 15 day DL and called up P Dave Gassner.

A MRI showed a 70% tear in the lateral meniscus in Silva's right knee. He could miss at least half the season and maybe the entire rest of the year. After starting his career with 3.21 ERA/5 RSAA and 4.43 ERA/-4 RSAA seasons as a reliever, Silva had a 4.21 ERA/12 RSAA in 33 starts. He has a 3.99 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.44, and 15 RSAA in 164 games.

2) The Diamondbacks placed P Greg Aquino on the 15 day DL and called up P Oscar Villarreal.

Aquino has an irritated ulnar nerve in his elbow. In such cases that involve extreme damage, players often are out for the season. A MRI will be done in the next few days to check out how bad his damage is. He has a 3.96 ERA/2 RSAA in 35 career games.

Villarreal has a 3.21 ERA/20 RSAA in 104 career games.

3) The Rangers activated P Pedro Astacio from the DL and sent P Nick Regilio to the minors.

Astacio has a 4.60 ERA/8 RSAA in 352 career games and hasn't pitched in more than 7 games in a season since 2002.

Regilio has a 7.32 ERA/-5 RSAA in 7 career games.

4) Marlins CF Juan Pierre's streak of 1700+ consecutive innings ended, when he didn't start yesterday. He was used as a defensive replacement, which kept his consecutive games streak intact at 340.

After -20 RCAA/.675 OPS and 7 RCAA/.734 OPS seasons, Pierre hit .407 SLG, .374 OBA, .781 OPS, 10 RCAA in 162 games. He has a .741 career OPS, compared to his league average of .775, and -39 RCAA in 688 games.

5) The Tigers placed INF Ramon Martinez on the 15 day DL and called up OF Marcus Thames.

Martinez has a sprained left thumb. After 3 RCAA/.749 OPS and -8 RCAA/.709 OPS seasons, he had a .346 SLG, .313 OBA, .659 OPS, -15 RCAA in 102 games with the Cubs. Martinez has a .717 career OPS, compared to his league average of .779, and -31 RCAA in 579 games.

Thames has -4 RCAA/.763 OPS in 99 career games, including a .509 SLG, .326 OBA, .835 OPS, 3 RCAA in 61 games in 2004.

6) Devil Rays RF Aubrey Huff tied Fred McGriff's team record with his 99th career HR.

7) The BlueJays had back to back to back HR from Vernon Wells, Corey Koskie and Shea Hillenbrand in the 3rd inning. It was the first time they had 3 consecutive HR since 2001 and David Wells became the first Redsox pitcher to allow 3 in a row since Wes Gardner, in 1988.

8) The Reds traded P Jose Acevedo to the Rockies for minor league P Allan Simpson.

The Rockies plan on sending Acevedo to the minors. He has a 5.59 ERA/-48 RSAA in 68 career games, including a 5.94 ERA/-34 RSAA in 27 starts (39 games) in 2004.

9) The Mariners placed P Bobby Madritsch on the 15 day DL, retroactive to April 7, and called up INF Justin Leone.

Madritsch has a strained shoulder. He has a 3.41 ERA/9 RSAA in 16 career games.

10) Devil Rays P Hideo Nomo made his 300th career start.

After 3.39 ERA/9 RSAA and 3.09 ERA/22 RSAA seasons, Nomo had a 8.25 ERA/-38 RSAA in 18 starts with the Dodgers. He has a 4.04 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.35, and 11 RSAA in 302 games.

11) Nationals P Livan Hernandez made his 250th career start.

After 4.38 ERA/-14 RSAA and 3.20 ERA/50 RSAA seasons, Hernandez had a 3.60 ERA/14 RSAA in 35 starts. He has a 4.14 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.35, and 14 RSAA in 251 games.
