Around the Majors: Retirements

1) Robb Nen announced his retirement.

Nen had a 2.98 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.29, and 87 RSAA in 643 games for the 1993 Rangers, 1993-97 Marlins and 1997-2002 Giants. He had a 1.52 ERA/25 RSAA in 1998 and a 1.50 ERA/20 RSAA in 2000. Nen missed the past 2 seasons, due to injury problems.

2) Rusty Greer announced his retirement.

Greer had a .865 career OPS, compared to his league average of .779, and 149 RCAA in 1027 games with the 1994-2002 Rangers. He had 35 RCAA/.927 OPS in 1996 and 48 RCAA/.936 OPS in 1997. Greer missed the past 2 seasons, due to injury problems.

Greer is 5th on the Senators/Rangers career RCAA list--

Diaz had been removed from the 40 man roster when he was designated for assignment earlier in the month.
