Correction from yesterday–Jake Peavy is not scheduled to pitch today, right after he pitched on Monday.

That was an occasional problem with the way I was writing the reports. So I didn’t have to waste the time retyping the “after … seasons” over and over again for everyone, I have been putting the reports into Word, doing a find for the last time the player was mentioned, using that stat writeup as the template and just amending the 2005 and career numbers.

But, every once in a while, an extra comment like when Peavy was going to start snuck in there without me realizing I needed to take it out.

That comment was related to his prior ATM reports reference being a start being pushed back.

Now that I’ve set up the pitching chart format and can just generate a new set of stats each day for everyone, without having to go back and grab their template, this will become a moot point going forward.

If you enjoy the ATM reports and want to support them, check out my other creation–the sabermetric baseball encyclopedia. It’s powerful, yet extremely easy to use. Features extensive sorting, stat display options, and features that are not available in online and printed sources. The deluxe package has been greatly expanded, making it a much better bargain. For more information, see http://www.baseball-encyclopedia.com

According to Peter Gammons, “There is no greater baseball tool than Lee Sinins’ Baseball Sabermetric Encyclopedia. Get thee to Baseball Immortals and order the disc, haste post haste.” The product Jayson Stark called “the best invention since the toaster oven!” has gotten even more powerful.
