David Wright, MVP?

by Dave Studeman
September 03, 2007

The Win Share totals have been updated through Sunday's games, and there is now a clear leader in the National League: the Mets' David Wright. Maybe it's because I don't live in New York, but I haven't heard much talk of Wright winning the MVP. It's time to start the chat: he's leading the NL with 29 Win Shares, three ahead of Albert Pujols and Eric Byrnes. He also leads the league in Runs Created with 114, and he's played a fine third base all year.

Yup, the 2007 MVP awards could both go to New York third basemen.

Dave was called a "national treasure" by Rob Neyer. Seriously. Comments about this article can be sent to him through the miracle of e-mail.
