Diamondbacks placed shortstop Stephen Drew on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.
Augie Ojeda will fill in at shortstop after Drew aggravated an old hamstring injury Friday. He may be ready to play again before the DL stint is up, but the Diamondbacks opted against playing short-handed.

According to the Arizona Republic, Brandon Webb "will miss at least six more weeks with a strain in his right shoulder."
Webb will be completely shut down for three weeks, but will then need to build back his arm strength. "It's frustrating because what I feel right now," Webb said. "I feel fine. Just when I throw is when I get the pain, so hopefully we'll just give it a little more time to heal, and we'll be ready to go in a few more weeks. It's gonna take a little while to get back, pitch count, strength-wise, to get where I need to be." Yusmeiro Petit will continue to replace Webb in the rotation.

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire hinted Saturday that Joe Mauer (back) may return before his May 1 target date.
Mauer could jump back into the lineup Tuesday if everything goes swimmingly this weekend. "As a manager, my job is to make sure he's ready," Gardenhire said. "But the old saying is, 'Throw him a little something to make him focus and get after it.' I'm throwing him something -- the possibility that he could join us even before Thursday. We're throwing that to him. But there are no guarantees on that."

Albert Pujols hit a grand slam in an 8-1 win over the Cubs on Saturday.
That makes seven homers and 25 RBI for the almighty Pujols. He has two grand slams this season and eight in his career. The four-run bomb, which cleared the left field seats at the new Busch Stadium, was also a milestone for Pujols as it put him at 1002 RBI for his career. There really aren't enough complimentary adjectives in the dictionary for this man.

Standings

The graphics next to each team are called "sparklines.” They depict each team’s performance over the last month. Each "up" bar is a victory and a "down" bar is a loss. There are horizontal lines for home games and red bars represent games decided by two runs or less. "PWins" is short for Projected Wins, based on each team’s Run Differential, and is often a better measure of a team’s true strength. Other team graphs and stats can be found on our Team Page.
