Peter Moylan was recalled from Triple-A Richmond to replace Thomson on the active roster. The Milwaukee Brewers recalled Anthony Gwynn from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday to replace Corey Koskie (concussion) on the active roster. The Washington Nationals placed John Patterson (forearm) on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday. They purchased Kevin Gryboski's contract from Triple-A New Orleansy. Manager Frank Robinson said Tony Armas Jr. (forearm) will be activated from the 15-day disabled list and get the start on Monday at Florida. Torii Hunter (foot) will have an MRI on his left foot after leaving Saturday's game against the Indians after two innings. Hunter had X-rays at a local area hospital, but the results were inconclusive. "He came in and said he couldn't run," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "It's more on the top of his foot toward the outer part of the little toe. He was hurting. He was close to having tears coming out of his eyes." Shannon Stewart was placed back on the 15-day disabled list after Saturday's game against the Indians due to his plantar fasciitis. He aggravated his injury legging out a grounder in the fifth inning and was replaced by Jason Kubel in the lineup. The San Francisco Chronicle reports Kirk Saarloos has lost his spot in the rotation to Jason Windsor, who will start Monday's game at Baltimore opposite Russ Ortiz. The San Francisco Chronicle reports 2004 first-round selection Richie Robnett will miss the rest of the season in the minors after breaking the hamate bone in his hand. Henry Owens gave up four hits and four runs in one inning at the Cubs Saturday. Owens was sent to Double-A Binghamton after the game. The Mets called up Heath Bell from Triple-A Norfolk. Seattle's Richie Sexson and Carl Everett hit consecutive homers at Toronto Saturday. The Yankees' official website reports Robinson Cano (hamstring) said he would likely miss another 10-14 days due to his injury. He returned to Tampa to continue his rehab, running the bases and taking grounders on Thursday. Miguel Cairo and Nick Green will continue to see time in his absence.
