THT Daily: Aftermathby Bryan TsaoJanuary 31, 2008 Top 100 - In a free article over at ESPN Insider, Keith Law gives us his top 100 prospects. Orioles attempting to extend Bedard? - Camden Chat wraps up the latest, while USS Mariner tries to put a reasonable number on a Bedard extension. Santana negotiations stall - Apparently the Mets and Johan Santana have started a ways apart in their contract extension negotiations. As in the Daisuke Matsuzaka case, it's so strongly in everyone's interest to complete a deal that I'm sure they'll do it, but it looks like we might be hanging until tomorrow at least. Mets improve Vegas odds - At least one Vegas oddsmaker now has the Mets as the second favorites to the World Series. Dodger thoughts - Okay, last thing on Santana for today: Jon Weisman examines why Santana isn't a Dodger. I always thought they were the most logical trade partner for the Twins. At the end of the column is Bob Klapisch's report of the how the end of the deal went down. End of the road - Veteran third baseman Jeff Cirillo is considering retirement. Dream job - As they have in the past, MLB is looking for stringers, sports reporters and now Pitch f/x operators! Hat tip to True Blue LA.
