The Braves will wait until at least Monday before deciding whether Tom Glavine's hamstring strain will require a DL stint. Glavine has never been on the DL, but since he's also never hurt his hamstring, he has no idea when he'll be ready to pitch again. The Braves will need two starters from a group of Jeff Bennett, Buddy Carlyle, Jo-Jo Reyes and Chuck James if Glavine can't go this week. Bennett is the only one of those pitchers currently in the majors.

B.J. Ryan picked up a save with a scoreless tenth inning against the Rangers today in his first big league appearance since last April. Ryan entered the game with a 5-4 lead in the 10th and quickly gave up a leadoff triple to Marlon Byrd. However, Ryan retired each of the next three hitters on balls in play to escape with the save. He's probably in for some rough patches as he shakes off the rust, but he needs to be activated in fantasy leagues anyway.

Francisco Liriano surrendered four runs in 4 2/3 innings Sunday versus the Royals in his first major league start since Tommy John surgery. Not far off what should have been expected. Liriano allowed six hits, walked five and struck out four. There could have been additional damage, but an iffy runner's interference call got the Twins out of the fifth after Brian Bass took over. Liriano wasn't nearly at peak velocity today and threw just 51 of his 90 pitches for strikes. It looks like he's still several outings away from contributing in mixed leagues.

Erik Bedard was scratched from his start for the second Sunday in a row because of inflammation in his left hip. Cha-Seung Baek is starting in his place. Bedard made it through his outing Tuesday OK, but he began feeling the hip soreness again Friday. He'll throw a bullpen session Monday before the Mariners decide when to slide him back into the rotation.

Standings
The graphics next to each team are called "sparklines.” They depict each team’s performance over the last month. Each "up" bar is a victory and a "down" bar is a loss. There are horizontal lines for home games and red bars represent games decided by two runs or less. "PWins" is short for Projected Wins, based on each team’s Run Differential, and is often a better measure of a team’s true strength. Other team graphs and stats can be found on our Team Page.
