One-tenth as many inning as he lasted long time out. Harang gave up a two-run homer to Derrek Lee before being replaced by Mike Gosling. Padres placed RHP Chris Young on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 25, with a strained oblique. The Padres are optimistic he'll miss just two starts. Tim Stauffer will take his place Sunday against the Astros. Angels placed catcher Mike Napoli on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring injury. The Angels believe they win games with their aggressive baserunning, but they've also had a couple of losses end on caught stealings this year and now they're losing their starting catcher on an injury sustained on a stolen base. Jeff Mathis will start in his place, with Ryan Budde serving as the backup. The Angels could attempt to pick up a veteran. Each "up" bar is a victory and a "down" bar is a loss. There are horizontal lines for home games and red bars represent games decided by two runs or less. "PWins" is short for Projected Wins, based on each team’s Run Differential, and is often a better measure of a team’s true strength.
