After a couple busy days, here's a proper set of links for you all.

A Night To Remember - South Side Sox reacts to Mark Buehrle's no-no and breaks down the key defensive plays that made it happen.

This Time... - A moment you've all been waiting for has arrived: All-Star balloting has officially begun! Because it's never too early to start drawing conclusions about the season.

Low Leverage - Tom Tango builds on Dave Studeman's analysis of the Mariners by figuring out their ridiculously low leverage index so far.

Walking Wounded - After losing Vladimir Guerrero earlier in the week, the struggling Angels are dealt another blow with stud prospect Howie Kendrick going to the disabled list with a broken hand.

Baseball Musings - It's easy to forget that just a few years ago, we were treated to a couple of the most thrilling MVP races in recent memory, with Barry Bonds going up against Albert Pujols. David Pinto takes a quick look at how that played out yesterday, while also noting how much pitchers are ahead of hitters at this point.

What If - We know about Jackie Robinson the man. Now let's ponder Jackie Robinson: fantasy second baseman.

Rough Day - Beerleaguer Jason Weitzel reacts to Ryan Howard's MRI and Brett Myers' move to the pen.

Hughes Rising - Yankees starting pitcher prospect Phillip Hughes has gotten off to a rough start so far, potentially blowing a golden chance to step up in the rotation with three starters on the disabled list. Still, his most recent start shows some promise.

Lester Set For Triple-A - Red Sox prospect Jon Lester continues his recovery from cancer as the club prepares to promote him to Triple-A to continue his rehab. Given the way Julian Tavarez is pitching, that rehab might not last much longer.

Walking Wounded, continued - Somehow, this completely flew under my radar yesterday, probably because I own neither in my fantasy league. But despite my inattention, the Marlins placed Jorge Julio and center fielder Alejandro De Aza on the disabled list yesterday. Is it just me, or are there more injuries early this season than usual?

Standings
The graphics next to each team are called "sparklines.” They depict each team’s performance over the last month. Each "up" bar is a victory and a "down" bar is a loss. There are horizontal lines for home games and red bars represent games decided by two runs or less. "PWins" is short for Projected Wins, based on each team’s Run Differential, and is often a better measure of a team’s true strength. Other team graphs and stats can be found on our Team Page.

Game of the Day

Mark Buehrle pitched a no-hitter in Chicago, facing the minimum number of batters (Sammy Sosa walked, but Buehrle picked him off). Buehrle was supported by some fine fielding and home runs by Jermaine Dye and Jim Thome. According to Elias, this was the first game in history in which a player threw a no-hitter, another hit a grand slam home run (Dye) and a third had a multiple homer game (Thome).

Mark Buehrle threw a no-hitter Wednesday against the Rangers, facing the minimum 27 hitters in a 6-0 victory. Buehrle was impressive. The Rangers, on the other hand, were truly terrible. Sammy Sosa was the only guy to reach base against Buehrle and was promptly picked off after his walk. Nelson Cruz turned in an ugly strikeout in the ninth, then didn't bother running to first after strike three got away from A.J. Pierzynski. The Rangers came close to hits when Hank Blalock just missed a homer in the second and again in the third when Jerry Hairston Jr. appeared to have an infield single and was called out, leading to his ejection. It was the White Sox's first no-hitter since Wilson Alvarez's in 1991. Buehrle has to be owned in mixed leagues now, but we're not all that confident this is the start of a big turnaround.

Felix Hernandez took himself out of Wednesday's game because of right elbow tightness. Time to hope for the best. The Mariners need to be extremely careful here and put Felix on the DL even if he goes and says he can make his next start. Jake Woods, who took over in the first inning tonight, would seem to be the top candidate to replace him in the rotation. Triple-A Tacoma's Cha Seung Baek is the alternative.

The Phillies have decided to make Brett Myers into a setup man to make room for Jon Lieber in the rotation. He'll work in the seventh and eighth, as well as close when Tom Gordon is not available. Incredible. This is perhaps the biggest overreaction to a lousy start that we've ever witnessed. Myers earned the Opening Day start for the Phillies after back-to-back fine seasons and had a great spring. He was coming off back-to-back poor starts, but he had struck out 19 in 15 1/3 innings. Short of turning Ryan Howard into a shortstop and benching Jimmy Rollins, we can't think of anything else the Phillies could have done to better sabotage their chances for this year. Myers needs to be held on to in mixed leagues, as the Phillies might figure out in a couple of weeks just how bad of an idea this is.

Ryan Howard is probably going to have an MRI Thursday on his left leg after hurting his knee in Wednesday's victory. Howard came down awkwardly on the first-base bag while trying to beat out a potential double-play ball in Wednesday's game, but he was able to remain in. If he's going to miss some time, Greg Dobbs would fill in for him. Chris Coste would likely be called up if it's a DL-type situation.

Brandon Webb struck out a career-high 13 while allowing two runs -- one earned -- in eight innings Wednesday against the Padres. An unearned run in the eighth tied the game at 2, preventing Webb from moving to 2-1 on the year. Webb has a 4.00 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 27 innings.

Angels placed second baseman Howie Kendrick on the 15-day disabled list with a broken bone in his finger. The good news is that the fracture isn't displaced, so maybe he'll be back within a month. The Angels will likely go with Erick Aybar as their primary second baseman for now, giving him some value in AL-only leagues. Once Chone Figgins returns, Maicer Izturis will likely move to second. Kendry Morales and Brandon Wood are candidates to be called up in Kendrick's place.

Marlins placed outfielder Alejandro De Aza on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 16, with a sprained right ankle. The Marlins blew it by having De Aza pinch-hit on Sunday, meaning they can only back up the assignment two days, rather than seven. Cody Ross and Alfredo Amezaga will share time in center until De Aza returns.

Mariners signed second baseman Jose Lopez to a four-year contract with a club option for 2011. The two sides had been talking for a couple of months. Lopez almost certainly would have been a super-two player at season's end, meaning he would have had four years of arbitration before becoming a free agent after 2011. The option will cover his last year of arbitration, so even if it's declined, the Mariners would still control his rights.

Braves signed manager Bobby Cox to a one-year contract extension through the 2008 season. Cox is locked into a job as the Braves' manager until he decides it's time to call it a career. The 65-year-old said during spring training that he might retire after 2008, which is likely why this is just a one-year extension.
