C.C. Sabathia earned his 100th career victory by allowing three runs over seven innings Friday against the Royals.
Sabathia joined teammate Fausto Carmona and Chien-Ming Wang at 19 wins, leaving him one behind Josh Beckett for the AL lead. The Indians' win tonight means they've clinched home-field advantage in the ALDS. They'll host the Yankees, while the Red Sox face the Angels. They're currently tied with Boston for baseball's best record at 95-65.

Melvin Mora delivered a game-winning bunt single with two outs in the 10th against the Yankees on Friday to give the Red Sox the AL East title.
The Red Sox will finish alone in first place in the AL East for the first time since 1995. The Orioles had to score three runs in the ninth off Mariano Rivera to send tonight's game into extra innings. The Yankees put the go-ahead run on third with one out in the top of the 10th, but neither Jose Molina nor Jasom Giambi could get it home. The Orioles did the same thing in the bottom of the inning. Kevin Millar struck out for the second out, but Mora ended it with a terrific bunt down the third base line.

Brandon Webb threw seven innings and allowed two runs on Friday as the Diamondbacks snapped the Rockies' 11-game winning streak.
Jose Valverde walked two in the ninth, but he was able to preserve the 4-2 victory. Webb is 3-0 in his last four starts. He finishes 18-10 with a 3.01 ERA. It won't be good enough to get him another Cy Young Award, but he should probably finish second behind Jake Peavy.

Cole Hamels struck out 13 over eight scoreless innings in a dominant effort Friday against the Nationals.
The Phillies won 6-0 to keep the pressure on the Mets. Hamels threw 116 pitches, well above his supposed limit of 100. It would have been one thing in a one- or two-run game, but the Phillies finished scoring in the seventh and could have taken Hamels out one inning earlier. The playoffs are extremely important, but if the Phillies hope to be in this position again in the future, they're going to need a healthy Hamels.

Standings
The graphics next to each team are called "sparklines.” They depict each team’s performance over the last month. Each "up" bar is a victory and a "down" bar is a loss. There are horizontal lines for home games and red bars represent games decided by two runs or less. "PWins" is short for Projected Wins, based on each team’s Run Differential, and is often a better measure of a team’s true strength. Other team graphs and stats can be found on our Team Page.
