Player Headlines are courtesy of RotoworldVladimir Guerrero (torn pectoral) may be back with the Angels as early as next Monday, manager Mike Sciosia said.
Guerrero is slated for a short minor league rehab stint beginning either Thursday or Friday. Oddly, Sciosia said that there has been no timetable given for Guerrero to begin throwing, which means he will return in a designated-hitter role, at least initially. Stay tuned.
Carlos Delgado will undergo hip surgery Tuesday to repair a torn labrum and bone spur.
The Mets didn't announce how long he'll be sidelined for, but if Alex Rodriguez's similar hip surgery is any indication, he'll be lost for about two months, if not longer. Manager Jerry Manuel has already begun experimenting with his replacement at first base with the likes of Fernando Tatis, Jeremy Reed and Daniel Murphy.
Rickie Weeks is expected to undergo season-ending surgery for a torn tendon sheath in his left wrist.
Weeks had a similar injury in his right wrist in 2006. It's a huge loss for the Brewers, even though they now have the potential to upgrade their infield defense. Craig Counsell figures to start at second against righties, with Casey McGehee possibly playing there against lefties. The Brewers, though, will likely eventually look outside of the organization for help. Mark Grudzielanek and Ray Durham, who started over Weeks down the stretch last year, are still free agents, and Ronnie Belliard is one of the second basemen likely available in trade.

Standings
The graphics next to each team are called "sparklines.” They depict each team’s performance over the last month. Each "up" bar is a victory and a "down" bar is a loss. There are horizontal lines for home games and red bars represent games decided by two runs or less. "PWins" is short for Projected Wins, based on each team’s Run Differential, and is often a better measure of a team’s true strength.
