According to the New York Post, the Angels "have an interest in acquiring" Jason Giambi. It seems like odd timing given the headlines Giambi made earlier this week regarding steroids, and the newspaper suggests that the Angels' interest started "before the recent controversy surfaced." Within the story, Chone Figgins and Jose Molina are suggested as possibly being targeted by the Yankees, but any return for Giambi would depend largely on how much of his contract they were willing to eat.

According to the New York Post, Roger Clemens is on track to join the Yankees' rotation next Monday against the Blue Jays. Clemens is scheduled to start Wednesday at Double-A, which is expected to be his final minor league rehab appearance barring a setback.

Standings
The graphics next to each team are called "sparklines.” They depict each team’s performance over the last month. Each "up" bar is a victory and a "down" bar is a loss. There are horizontal lines for home games and red bars represent games decided by two runs or less. "PWins" is short for Projected Wins, based on each team’s Run Differential, and is often a better measure of a team’s true strength. Other team graphs and stats can be found on our Team Page.
