Live from the ballpark - Starting this season, news organizations will face increased restrictions on what content they can put on their websites or show from the ballpark. Spin cycle - It's amazing how this MLB.com spins quotes from former Barry Bonds teammates Randy Winn and Dave Roberts as endorsing a potential signing with Tampa Bay under the headline "Players think Rays should act," while San Francisco Chronicle report has them doubting Bonds would sign, with the the headline "Bonds in Tampa? Nah..." Granted, those two reports aren't actually contradictory, but the MLB piece is definitely leaving out some important context—the Chronicle piece acknowledged that Winn and Roberts felt the move would be good for the Rays. Hank seeks Cashman extension - Yankees senior vice president Hank Steinbrenner plans to engage general manager Brian Cashman in discussions about a new contract this season. Peter Abraham doesn't think much of Hank's idle chatter. Nonetheless, River Avenue Blues likes the sound of it. Cashman is in the final year of his deal. Injury risks - CBS Sportsline continues its fantasy coverage with a good article on injuries you should know about going into your draft. Speaking of injuries... - Jim McLennan over at AZSnakepit gives a brief history of microfracture surgery as it applies to two Diamondbacks players. Catfight - The latest spat between the mainstream media and bloggers. Cash flow - I've never seen fans excited about ticket increases, but Purple Row thinks the Rockies' might help keep fan favorite Matt Holliday in town.
