Johnny Cueto came out of his start Sunday after three innings with soreness in his right triceps tendon.
Cueto allowed just an unearned run before departing, but he was up to 74 pitches, so he wasn't going to last seven innings like he did in his previous two starts. The Reds would be crazy to take any risks with him giving their position in the standings. There's some chance we won't see him again this season.

Jerry Manuel said the Mets might shut down John Maine for the rest of the season if he doesn't look strong during a throwing session next week.
Maine has a bone spur in his shoulder, but said after Saturday's start that he planned on pitching through the pain. Management should make the call by Wednesday.

Standings
The graphics next to each team are called "sparklines.” They depict each team’s performance over the last month. Each "up" bar is a victory and a "down" bar is a loss. There are horizontal lines for home games and red bars represent games decided by two runs or less. "PWins" is short for Projected Wins, based on each team’s Run Differential, and is often a better measure of a team’s true strength. Other team graphs and stats can be found on our Team Page.
