Bautista was injured on a steal attempt Saturday. Jose Castillo will get most of the playing time at third base over the next couple of weeks, giving him some value in NL-only leagues. Al Reyes (shoulder) is scheduled to pitch one inning Monday at Class A Vero Beach, have Tuesday off and be activated from the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday. "I feel very good," Reyes said after throwing 27 pitches—mixing in his changeup and slider—to Rays hitters Jorge Cantu, Josh Wilson, Dioner Navarro and Dustan Mohr. "I'm ready to go Monday down at Vero Beach." Gary Glover will return to setup duties. Jason Giambi (foot) is in Tampa Bay and is expected to begin working out at the Yankees' minor-league complex this week. He has told people within the organization he might need two weeks to get ready. However, it's more than likely Giambi won't return until the middle of next month. He'll probably share time with Johnny Damon at DH when he is able to return. Tom Glavine recorded his 298th career victory by limiting the Reds to one run and two hits over eight innings on Saturday. We're guessing Mike Stanton cost Glavine at least a couple of wins when the two were teammates in 2003 and 2004. Well, tonight he repaid the debt. Matt Belisle matched Glavine for seven innings, but after Stanton took over to start the eighth, Lastings Milledge drove in Shawn Green to give the Mets a 2-1 lead that Billy Wagner preserved. Glavine will go for No. 299 against the Dodgers on Thursday. Ben Sheets left his start Saturday with a sprained middle finger on his pitching hand. He could undergo an MRI on Monday if the injury is still bothering him. The big concern here is that he might have damaged a ligament in the finger, much as Joel Zumaya did. That could potentially be a season-ender for the right-hander. If it turns out that he just tweaked it, then he could avoid the disabled list. With his status uncertain for now, Yovani Gallardo needs to be owned in every format. Angels placed second baseman Howie Kendrick on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 8, with a broken bone in his finger.\r\n Kendrick is aiming to return before the end of the month, but it would be the very end of the month and that would still take some luck. Maicer Izturis will get most of the playing time at second base.
