Randy Johnson, forced to miss his last start with forearm tendinitis, shut down the Phillies on one hit over six innings on Wednesday as Arizona held on to win 4-3.
The Big Unit moves over .500 with the victory and lowered his ERA to 3.89 as he surrendered just a second-inning single to Pat Burrell among his easy 61-pitch night. Johnson had that slider/fastball combination working to perfection, fanning six and walking none. It's definitely safe to get the 43-year-old southpaw back in your lineup. Jose Valverde finished things off for his 19th save.

Carlos Guillen is day-to-day after leaving Tuesday's game with a mild right groin strain.
With Brandon Inge also hurting, the Tigers are suddenly shallow in the infield, which could force them to make a move Thursday. Guillen is currently listed as day-to-day.

Cardinals placed catcher Yadier Molina on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured left wrist.
It looks like Gary Bennett will be the Cardinals' primary catcher for the next 4-6 weeks. The Cardinals will try to trade for help, as career minor league Brian Esposito is a very weak backup option, but the best they're likely to do is bring in an Alberto Castillo-type player. Bennett should have a little value in NL-only leagues until Molina gets back.

Standings
The graphics next to each team are called "sparklines.” They depict each team’s performance over the last month. Each "up" bar is a victory and a "down" bar is a loss. There are horizontal lines for home games and red bars represent games decided by two runs or less. "PWins" is short for Projected Wins, based on each team’s Run Differential, and is often a better measure of a team’s true strength. Other team graphs and stats can be found on our Team Page.
