THT Daily: Baseball stuff

by Bryan Tsao
February 12, 2008

Wait till next year - For the teams already out of it, Baseball America has a comprehensive preview of the June 5 amateur draft, with overviews of the top talents and what teams are thinking at this point. Jim Callis also took the time to chat with readers.

Blanton - Joe Blanton seems to be next up on the list of pitchers to be traded this offseason. Tim Dierkes brings us the latest on who is in on Smokey Joe.

Assessment - John Sickels looks back at his top prospects of 2002. All in all, not bad: out of the top 10, only Dennis Tankersley never made the majors, and for the most part the rest of the top 10 have been useful to great players.

Congress excuses Pettitte, others - Apparently, the only people who will still be testifying are Roger Clemens and Brian McNamee.

Mariners roster battles - Now that they have Erik Bedard, what might the Mariners look like going into spring training? Derek Zumsteg takes a look.

Top fantasy rookies - Eric Mack over at CBS Sportsline gives us his top 25. The one guy who jumps out at me as not quite belonging is Brandon Wood.

K-Rod, Angels head to arbitration - Seems like players hardly actually make it to the hearing stage, but it looks like the Angels and Francisco Rodriguez weren't able to come to an agreement for some reason.
