I’m still bitter that the Astros let Ryan slip away to the Rangers since Ryan was at the “end” of his career - of course 2 of his 7 no-hitters were thrown for the Rangers. Growing up an Astros fan was an exercise in Frustration. A frustration I exchanged when I married into the Red Sox nation. Posted 08/12 at 09:00 AM

That doesn’t count, you can’t start rooting for a winning team just because you got married. You’re still an Astros fan, that’s how it is. Posted 08/12 at 02:11 PM

Can you switch to a losing team when you get married? Posted 08/12 at 02:32 PM

They weren’t a winning team when I married into them. Plus I was around for the worst pitching change that didn’t happen in 2003 - how could he not have taken Pedro out? I may not have been born a Red Sox fan but once we moved to New England it became inevitable. Resistance is futile - sure there are a few NY bandwagoners but those have tapered off. This is similar to the phenomenon of moving to Missouri. When the local paper dedicates 3-4 pages of the sports newshole every day to the Cards eventually you start rooting for Ozzie and company. Last night on ESPN, they showed the top 10 baseball brawls of all time. Number three was Nolan Ryan beating the crap out of Robin Ventura. Classic!
