Might want to check out the player name.  It was Price, not Longoria who did the complaining.

Longoria has much more to cry about regarding that awful contract he signed.  It’s one of the best deals ever from a team’s perspective, one that should cost Longoria’s agent his job.

@Greg: Good point, but he’s still making more than the average fan this year. Can’t offer free tickets to every game. Or maybe they can…Thanks for posting!

Glad to see these are still smug and awful.

Thanks for the post!

I dunno Tuck, it’s a tough economy but baseball as a whole is still doing well. I don’t see that as much of an excuse. The Rays have played great baseball (not so much lately, but still…) and for them to not be able to draw in more than 13,000 fans without giving away tickets for a potential clinch game? That’s just sad.

You can’t get your team to have the funding to retain it’s star players without actually GOING to the games. Price was right (all puns intended), it’s embarrassing. I’ve been cash strapped my entire time living in Colorado but still make the effort to go to as many games as possible during the season. And I don’t care how bad the stadium’s location was, if I was in St Pete or TB I’d be at Rays games as much as possible too.

Tampa Bay / St. Petersburg don’t deserve the Rays.
