A gem for Hottovy
Posted by Matthew NameeIf you read THT Live often, you know that I'm pretty high on Wichita State senior lefty Tommy Hottovy. Hottovy was exclusively a reliever in his NCAA career until last weekend, when he looked great in his first career start. Tonight, though, he was even better: a 7-inning complete game victory, with just one run on 4 hits. He also struck out 10 while walking none.
The gem puts Hottovy's record this year at 7-3, with a 2.11 ERA and 81 strikeouts (against only 9 walks) in 64 innings. That's 11.4 K/9 and 1.3 W/9. He's going to be a great sleeper pick for some MLB team come the June draft.
