Elsewhere on this page today, The Hardball Times presents two different statistical approaches to picking the major league All-Star teams. In the real-world current system, though, they're chosen by fan vote.

Must be ... who’s the CF in that bunch, Braun?  Neither he nor Holliday is a particularly good defender, but at least Braun can run.

I don’t suppose they’re allowed to start Berkman at DH, and promote Kemp to CF?

Holliday is a solidly average fielder, putting him leaps and bounds above Braun or Berkman.

Bruce can run pretty well and has a rocket arm. Great fielder there.
