College World Series odds: Omaha day 2

Posted by Jeff Sackmann
Yesterday's two games featured one big upset and another arguable one. No one outside of Fayetteville expected Arkansas to beat Fullerton, and Virginia's tear through the postseason had a lot of people (myself included) predicting they would beat LSU.

As it is, Arkansas and LSU advance to the winner's game, and when Fullerton and Virginia face off, the loser will go home. As you might guess, LSU is now the heavy favorite to come out its bracket. Arizona State—the favorite out of the other bracket—benefits as well. With the lower probability of Fullerton or Virginia playing next weekend, the odds for the Wildcats (or whoever wins their bracket) to win it all are quite a bit better.
