Getting to know….. David Wright, NY Mets superstar 3rd baseman

Posted by Ephraim Fischbein
Full Name – David Allen Wright

Born - Norfolk, Virginia on December 20, 1982

Nickname - It's just things like D-Wright, some people call me D-Dub. That's pretty much it, no cool nicknames.

Hobbies/Interests- Golf and tennis. That's pretty much it. I also like to hang out with my brothers, I have three younger ones.

Favorite Shows- SportCenter, or anything sports related

Player you would pay to watch play today - Albert Pujols

Favorite thing to do on an off day - Sleep, sleep and some more sleep

Favorite actor - Paul Rudd

Favorite Foods - pizza and sushi

Favorite musician - Dave Matthews Band

Favorite ballpark - Right here, Citi Field, this place is awesome. I love playing in New York. The energy, the edge and the excitement that New York has, no other city else has.

Favorite non baseball sports team - Virginia Tech Hokies

Toughest pitcher ever faced - John Smoltz

First job - I worked briefly at a batting cage when I was in high school, in Chesapeake, VA at age 15.

Favorite uniforms - I'm a big fan of our uniforms, but besides the Mets, probably the Red Sox and the classic Boston look

Most embarrassing professional moment - I seem to do something new and embarrassing each day, let's see what happens tonight.

Biggest thrill to date as an athlete - Tasting playoff baseball, by going to the National League Championship Series in 2006
