In the Wall Street Journal

Posted by Dave Studeman
The Hardball Times makes a small appearance in this excellent article (sorry, subscription required) on the Wall Street Journal's website this weekend. The article talks about Vince Gennaro's new Diamond Dollars book (which has been highlighted here in the past) and includes excellent insights from baseball insiders.

My favorite quote is at the end of the article:
"I don't know how you can say we're going to get this many wins because of this player," says Aaron Rowand, the center fielder for the Philadelphia Phillies. If statisticians can, says Mr. Rowand, "more power to them."
Come on by THT and Baseball Prospectus anytime, Aaron.

Dave was called a "national treasure" by Rob Neyer. Seriously. Comments about this article can be sent to him through the miracle of e-mail.
