Kodak Moments
Posted by Dave StudemanAll the graphs have been updated with stats through the end of April. There are some interesting stories in these graphs. For example:
The American League Divisional graphs give a clear picture of the Red Sox's continued dominance and the Yankees' resurgence, the Tiger's return to normality and the surprising leaders in the AL West.
The National League Divisional graphs highlight the Expos' continuing freefall, the jumble in the NL Central and the surge by the surprising Padres.
Among American League trend graphs, you can easily see Boston's dominant pitching and Tampa Bay's lousy offense, the White Sox slugging and some oddities in the pitching/fielding graph: the White Sox and Devil Rays both have the best DERs and the worst FIPs in the league. These are two of the most extreme flyball staffs in the league, but I'll be surprised if their DER remains that strong.
And the National League trend graphs paint the Expos' horrid offense and the Giants' bad pitching and (particularly) fielding.
