Monday, July 21, 2008Marcel versus the Indians and A’sPosted by Sal BaxamusaKanka Sports uses our Marcel Utility to check out the Indians. And Graham Goldbeck does the same for the Oakland A's. Remember, Marcel needs lots of data in order to make good estimates, so it may not be the greatest tool for a team full of young players like the A's. But, it's better than just going off of 2008 stats alone! The next release of the Marcel Utility will add a "reliability" score, so you can see how far each estimate has been regressed to the mean (e.g., how reliable each projection is). Players with no MLB stats will project as league average but will have a reliability score of zero.
