News and Rumors: Gammons and Forman

It appears that Peter Gammons will be leaving ESPN to pursue “new challenges and a less demanding schedule.” Gammons will depart after the conclusions of the Winter Meetings, and it is unclear right now what exactly Gammons will be doing in terms of career choice, but we wish him well.

On an unrelated note, word is that Baseball Reference owner Sean Forman has been invited to join the Baseball Writers Association of America. This news isn’t official yet, but is based on “some tweets from folks,” according to Mr. Forman. That doesn’t sound very official, but with the way Twitter has shaped the Winter Meetings so far, it’s good enough for me.
