Top games of the week: June 19 to 25
Posted by Max Marchi
Time to rank the five most exciting games of the past week.
date game stars
06-22 Athletics @ Mets *** box score
06-24 Reds @ Orioles ** box score
06-21 Rockies @ Indians ** box score
06-24 Nationals @ White Sox ** box score
06-22 Angels @ Marlins * box score
The Athletics @ Mets contest topping the above list is ranked 16th for the season. The May 18 game featuring the Yankees @ Orioles is still the best of the year.
After creating a baseball rendition of The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper cover, Max began his baseball writing because he needed an excuse to show the picture. He wrote for an Italian audience for six years before making the jump to The Hardball Times. You can contact him by e-mail.

Tehre may be a flaw in the methodology here. A’s/Mets was a one run game tied in the ninth with two outs on a single and won in the 13th.
Nats/Sox was tied in the ninth on a two out, three run, pinch hit homer, tied again in the tenth on a WP after the Nats took the lead on a homer and tied again in the 13th on a two out solo HR then finally won in the 14th. Not sure how A’s/Mets was more exciting then that.
