Your fun fact for the day

Posted by Chris Jaffe
The Dodgers haven't lost three straight games since last August.

Really.

History instructor by day, statnerd by night, Chris Jaffe leads one of the most exciting double lives imaginable; with the exception of every other double life possible to imagine. Despite his lack of comic-book-hero-worthiness, Chris enjoys farting around with this stuff. His new book, Evaluating Baseball's Managers is available for order. Chris welcomes responses to his articles via e-mail.

No.  At all.

In 2008, the swept the Cubs in the NLDS, dropped the first two games of the NLCS to the Phillies, won a game, then lost two more.  They won this year’s season opener.

No three-game losing streak there.

*sigh*

March 27 - L, 1-4 vs. KC
March 28 - L, 1-6 @ CWS
March 29 - L, 3-7 vs. SD
March 30 - L, 5-9 @ Oak

Hence, “in the regular season”

Spring training?

Wow, I didn’t even think of that.  I was only concerned with counting the games that, well, counted.
