Monday, June 02, 2008Bad Luck HittersBeyond the Box Score takes a peek at Nick Swisher to discover what's wrong with him this year and finds nothing more than bad luck so far. Another such player is Adrian Beltre, who's core statistics are all at peak levels since 2004 but who is suffering from an absurd .239 BABIP Surprise FacePrior's attempt at rehab over surgery to recover from the torn capsule in his right shoulder is over. Prior will undergo season-ending surgery. No confirmation yet on what this means for Prior in 2009 (or beyond) but being pessimistic is probably still too optimistic. Sad. At least grabbing Greg Maddux and Randy Wolf has worked out terrifically from Kevin Towers. I cannot wait to see what prospects he nabs when he spins them off at the deadline; or sooner given the Padres current position in the standings.
