I've always liked Floyd, and it's nice to see him get credit for something beyond his on-field accomplishments. But is the jab at Bill James really necessary? Obviously, this writer hasn't read much of Bill James' work. If he had, he'd realize that James agrees that some things, like team chemistry, are real but unquantifiable. Of course, you can only create something like this if you have lots of pitches in your database.
