MLB game times down

More emphasis on speeding up games has led to a decrease in average game time by a couple minutes since May 23. Since it's such a small sample and short period of improvement, I'm a bit skeptical that this is a real effect, but at least it seems like MLB cares about speeding up the game a bit.

See you in Chicago in October

A website called Baseball Playoffs Now, which uses a proprietary set of calculations to predict the season standings, predicts that both Chicago teams will meet in the World Series and the Cubs will win in six. Though their methods seem sound, they predicted the Red Sox would be in the Series just four days ago. Ah, fickle predictions.
