Schilling restates his case - Curt Schilling fired back at the Red Sox for not letting him have surgery on his shoulder. A nice in-depth piece by the Boston Globe.
Jay Bruce may start season in minors - The Dusty Baker Experience has only just begun in Cincinnati.
On announcing- Bleed Cubbie Blue interviews Bob Brenley on being an announcer. Not a bad interview overall. My favorite exchange:
BCB: How much interaction do you have with the team? Are you able to give advice -- is it encouraged or discouraged? Do the players ask?
BB: I have daily access to the players and coaches. A few guys have asked, "what do you see?" when talking about their swing. I've talked to a few pitchers about pitch selection in general. I don't volunteer advice because I know no one knows better than the coaches what is going on with their own guys. I would never step on those toes.

Kinsler signs new deal - The Texas Rangers have reportedly signed second baseman Ian Kinsler to a five-year extension, ESPN reports. The deal would buy out his last three arbitration years and his first free agent year, with a club option on his second.
Astros linked with Chacon - In their probably pointless drive for .500, the Astros are close to signing Shawn Chacon to join their rotation.
