As expected, Todd Wellemeyer will miss his scheduled start Tuesday because of elbow inflammation.
Mitchell Boggs will get the nod. "It's nothing serious," said Wellemeyer. "I felt it after my start against Pittsburgh and again Thursday's game. It was enough to get it checked out." He'll throw a bullpen session Tuesday and expects to avoid the disabled list. Wellemeyer has already eclipsed his career high for innings in a season, so it's not much of a surprise that he's having inflammation issues.

Joe Crede had a second straight two-homer game and drove in six runs as the White Sox stomped on the Twins 11-2 on Saturday.
Crede had two homers in a span of five weeks before launching five in his last three games. He's now at 14 for the year, moving him into a tie with Manny Ramirez for third place in the American League. Maybe the White Sox will try moving him up in the order.

Adam Wainwright suffered a strained right middle finger before coming out of Saturday's game in the sixth inning.
He was charged with two runs in five-plus innings after the runner he left on base came around to score off Kyle McClellan. Wainwright might need to miss at least one turn with the injury. If so, Anthony Reyes or Jaime Garcia could be called up to replace him.

Jason Schmidt has been scratched from his scheduled minor league rehab start Sunday with some discomfort in his surgically repaired shoulder.
"It's not a setback, it's just a set aside," manager Joe Torre said. "At this point, we're not ready to start the clock on him. I think we're more cautious on starting the clock because we know once we start it, you have a 30-day window. We're going to just hold off maybe for a few days, maybe a week, but depending on him."

Standings
The graphics next to each team are called "sparklines.” They depict each team’s performance over the last month. Each "up" bar is a victory and a "down" bar is a loss. There are horizontal lines for home games and red bars represent games decided by two runs or less. "PWins" is short for Projected Wins, based on each team’s Run Differential, and is often a better measure of a team’s true strength. Other team graphs and stats can be found on our Team Page.
