Player News
Player Headlines are courtesy of RotoworldDiamondbacks placed RHP Brandon Webb on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 7, with a sore right shoulder.
It still sounds like the Diamondbacks expects Webb to miss just one more start. He wasn't immediately replaced on the roster, so it appears the the team will just go ahead and activate Max Scherzer in his place. Scherzer, the team's fifth starter, is scheduled to pitch Tuesday. Yusmeiro Petit will continue to fill in for Webb.
Milton Bradley left Sunday's game in the fourth inning with an apparent right leg injury.
Not even a week. Bradley, who had some trouble with his left quad during spring training, appeared to hurt his right groin tonight. Reed Johnson pinch-ran for him. If Bradley lands on the DL, then Johnson and Kosuke Fukudome would both play pretty regularly.
Tom Glavine left his rehab start for Double-A Mississippi on Sunday after just two innings because of shoulder discomfort.
The plan was for Glavine to start for the Braves on Saturday, but it's hard to imagine that happening now. We're guessing that the team will turn back to Jorge Campillo as its fifth starter. Tommy Hanson will probably have to wait a while longer.
Torii Hunter was ejected from Sunday's game in the first inning following a benches-clearing incident against the Red Sox.
There hadn't been any previous incidents in the series, but after Bobby Abreu called time just before Josh Beckett was ready to throw him a pitch in the first, the pitch sailed up and in over his head. Abreu took offense and started pointing at Beckett, causing Beckett to walk towards him. The benches cleared, but it still looked like nothing would materialize until Mike Scioscia ramped up his arguing and the Angels wouldn't get off the field. Hunter and Justin Speier were the only players tossed.

The graphics next to each team are called "sparklines.” They depict each team’s performance over the last month. Each "up" bar is a victory and a "down" bar is a loss. There are horizontal lines for home games and red bars represent games decided by two runs or less. "PWins" is short for Projected Wins, based on each team’s Run Differential, and is often a better measure of a team’s true strength.
