Player News
Player Headlines are courtesy of RotoworldThe Rays hope to have B.J. Upton back from a strained left shoulder on Saturday. Reyes aggravated the shoulder on a swing during Thursday's game. "It looks bad right away. It feels bad right away," Upton said. "But this is the best it’s ever felt right after, so we shouldn’t think too much of it." Nathan Haynes figures to start in Upton's place tomorrow.
Yankees GM Brian Cashman said he doesn't expect to see Phil Hughes back before July after he was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his rib cage. That sounds right. Hughes will probably go 4-6 weeks without pitching, and it'd be for the best if he spends a full month in the minors before coming off the disabled list. Darrell Rasner will start in his place on Sunday.
The Rocky Mountain News reports that Troy Tulowitzki has suffered a torn tendon in his left quadricep and could be out until at least the All Star break. Not exactly what the struggling Rockies were hoping to hear. Tulowitzki underwent an MRI on Wednesday and the Rockies confirmed he suffered a tear in the quad near the hip area. His agent said that "with the help of God, he will be back in two months." Clint Barmes will take over duties at short stop, with Omar Quintanilla and Jonathan Herrera platooning at second until Jeff Baker is healthy.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Jimmy Rollins (ankle) is now unlikely to return from the disabled list when eligible Monday. Rollins appeared to be on track for a Monday return and was scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment, but felt soreness in his sprained ankle while running the bases Wednesday. "Once I'm able to do that, I'll be able to play," Rollins said. "Don't treat it right and I've got a bad ankle for the rest of my career, too. That's not good. When I'm ready, I'll be up on that lineup board."

Standings
The graphics next to each team are called "sparklines.” They depict each team’s performance over the last month. Each "up" bar is a victory and a "down" bar is a loss. There are horizontal lines for home games and red bars represent games decided by two runs or less. "PWins" is short for Projected Wins, based on each team’s Run Differential, and is often a better measure of a team’s true strength. THT's Stats
Groundball pitchers are a special breed. They give up less home runs and, if backed by a strong infield, can be the ace of your staff. Groundball pitching isn’t a guarantee of success, however. For instance, recently traded Jason Johnson is sixth on this list of the most prolific groundball pitchers in the majors (a total of 25 pitchers with 49% groundball rate or higher; the major league average is 43%).GB% refers to percent of batted balls that are groundballs. I’ve also included each pitcher’s ERA for comparison.
