Great Moments in being unbelievably clueless

Definition of chutzpah: a man who blew his arm out in his 20s criticizing a manager for monitoring his young pitchers' pitch counts.

Definition of outrageous f*cking chutzpah: a man who did time for literally stealing millions from people criticizing a player for "stealing" millions by not playing up to the size of his contract.

Both of those things together: Denny McLain.

I almost quit reading when he says something about being in the same division as the Blue Jays.  Not only is there chutzpah, there’s cluelessness.  The whole thing reads like McLain was drunk when he wrote it.

And, oh yeah, I’m sure that Jeremy Bonderman was just hiding his thoracic outlet compression syndrome until he could steal $40 million and laugh all the way to the bank.

I read that sentence a good six or seven times and still had no clue what he was trying to say.  Did he combine the AL C and AL E?  Does he think the Jays play in the C? I’m still confused.

I envision he was at a Tigers game when he told this poor unassuming guy next to him that he had to “drain the lizard” and get a refill on his beer. As he squeezed down the aisle and ambled to the concession stand he realized that it was the 7th inning stretch and he couldn’t get his 12th and 13th beers. Miffed, he grabbed some nachos and a pretzel, spilled mustard on his shirt, and then grumbled all the way back to his seat where he chose to enlighten the poor guy about what’s wrong with Tigers baseball.

Then, he went home, wrote it down and posted it before going to bed. He probably doesn’t even remember writing it.

I think this article only makes sense to Jays fans. In the Central they would at least have a legitimate shot to win the division.

Mr. McLain, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone who sees this is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Kind of random love for Mickey Lolich there.  Lolich was really nothing special while these guys were teammates: ERA+ of 94 in the Year of the Pitcher, and 14-19 with a 3.80 ERA in 1970, McLain’s last year in Detroit.  Really?  Nobody on today’s Tiger squad can bring that kind of stuff?

Denny must want to borrow money from Mickey.

Chutzpah is the appropriate term here.

McLain’s a clown.  His blog post would have been more insightful if all he did was say “Yippee-kai-yah, motherfucker!”

Remember that blog Craig posted about a month ago that was written by that nice little six-year-old?

Yeah, it was more well-written than this article.

it is amazing to me that some of you toss these missiles as though thoughtlessness is an art. Please if nothing else get the facts straight and don’t be afraid of checking facts. Blogs are opinionslike some body parts! I know that you folks also have something else in mind since all of us have one of THOSE also. Entertainment folks that is what we try to do and to get you to think a little, a little emotion and disagreement never hurts anyone, as far as things that may have occurred 15 yrs ago check the facts, at least ck the facts and lastly, you know my baggage I wonder if any of you folks have any at all? I always wonder about folks who throw nasty insults without facts, their baggage remains in secret. Thank you for reading and your comments, we all make a few mistakes, it is human.talk to you soon!

Dear Denny,

My high school English teacher is very disappointed in you.  Please read this:
Comma splice.

Thank you.
