Monday, January 26, 2009Greinke ExtendedAll of you deluded Braves fanboys who thought that Dayton Moore was dumb enough to trade Zach Greinke for Jeff Francoeur and a bucket of warm spit (or should that be reversed?) can finally kiss those dreams goodbye:The Royals reached agreement Monday morning with right-handed pitcher Zack Greinke on a four-year contract that buys out his first two seasons of free-agent eligibility. Let's forget for a moment that I was one of those deluded Braves fanboys, and say that for the first time this offseason, the Royals did something right. Posted by Craig Calcaterra at 1:31pm Comments

My little nephews who live just outside Orlando regard Greinke as the local boy who made good. After reading this, the older boy (now 6’4”) called me and said he’s switching from SP and 2B to SP exclusively for his high school team. Better than Johnny Damon, another local guy who’s played catch with my middle nephew but didn’t convert him from C to OF. Posted 01/26 at 05:46 PM

All this means is that Dayton made the deal financially secure so that the Braves knew what they had to pay. Once Frenchy gets his arbitration case settled, Moore will be on the phone calling Wren. I’m not worried. Greinke’s still coming ... Greinke’s still coming ... Posted 01/26 at 11:47 PM

Whether it’s a trick or luck or whatever, it’s still the best day the Royals have had in months. I couldn’t be happier! Posted 01/27 at 12:04 PM

Don’t you believe it. It’s like chasing the pretty girl at work for months, having her tell you no every time, and then suddenly invite you to her house for dinner.
Pizza and beer while you move all of her furniture from room to room with no apparant plan.
It’s a trick, I tell you. Nothing more than a trick to make us think he knows what he’s doing while he has some evil deed planned.
There must be a trade for Sean Casey in the works. Its the only thing that makes sense.
