Tuesday, August 04, 2009NBC Comment of the DayAll I have to say is boo friggin' hoo to these guys who get paid 7 or 8 figures a year to play a game... Suck it up and deal with it. Not like baseball requires much physical exertion, you stand out in the field and maybe sprint 8 or 9 times in a 3 hour span. -- commenter "Cry4the$$$," who didn't take too kindly to my complaints about the Braves and Dodgers playing on the west coast last night following a late, east coast game on Sunday night. It’s like a 3-sentence IQ test (result: fail). File under things I’ll never understand: People while endlessly about athletes’ salaries, while never saying “boo” about movie/TV/radio/music stars. This despite the fact that an athlete must have at least a baseline level of demonstrable skill, whereas Dane Cooks, T-Pains and Rob Schneiders make a mockery of their crafts but command hefty sums outweighing many ballplayers. I totally agree re: Dane Cook and Rob SChneider (although Schneider had a stand-up routine ages ago on a Rodney Dangerfields young comedians special that was really funny). I am SO pleased to say I have no idea who T-Pain is. Posted 08/04 at 07:48 PM

@Mike: T-Pain is a hip-hop artist who did exactly two notable things this year, namely playing Master Shake in the live-action episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force and doing Joe Thurston’s absurdly catchy walk-up song, which incidentally was also probably the only good thing about Thursty’s time with the Cards. Other than that, he’s the worst of the rappers who use Auto-Tune to disguise their lack of talent. Posted 08/04 at 11:30 PM

Not to get off the topic, but T-Pain really is the worst musical artist of all time, tied with Lil Wayne. He had a show at my school, John Carroll, two years ago. He would perform for two minutes, then get tired and sit on stage for the next five. Kanye West followed suit using auto-tune in his last album and pretty much ruined his career from here on out.
