It also might be a tempting time for players who are willing to take shortcuts, because the NHL doesn't test for performance-enhancing drugs during the playoffs. For all the prices paid to hoist the Stanley Cup, a fear of being caught taking banned substances is not among them. Could imagine the outcry if this was the case in baseball?
